If you’re looking for a way to make your lady smile -- or to get her to forgive you -- these are the 10 best ways to do it. Bonus points to those who can combine 2 out of the 10 on the list. Buyer beware: do this sparingly, as it won’t have the same effect if you do it often.

10. Flowers: It’s seriously the easiest way to make someone smile. In fact, this has such a profound effect, you could give a complete stranger a flower and they will smile. This is a no-brainer and a welcome go-to.

TIP: Always vary the kinds of flowers you get so it can enhance her senses each time she gets them.

This past weekend, I was out with female friends and one thing I’ve noticed was many guys would approach them and very few would succeed. The one commonality I saw between those who did and those who didn’t was simple.

The guys who succeeded approached me first.

Top Ten Romantic Comedies

2011 has been the "Year of the Romantic Comedy." Whether or not these movies are actually good, I'll leave that up to you. Having said that, I've decided that NO man should be without his guide for the best "Fella-friendly" Romantic Comedies. Guys, whenever you want to surprise your lady, tell her you want to watch one of these movies and prepare for an amazing night. Trust me.

Here's the thing about breakups. They suck. But in some of them, you do split up somewhat amicably and  would like to retain the friendship to an extent. It's completely possible. In fact, one of my interns this summer went through the same thing. I gave her a few steps and now she's on her way to building a solid friendship with her ex.

Worrying less about outcomes to get more out of your interactions

If you were to ask me what is the best way to approach a woman you’re interested in, my answer is always being open and direct with her. Stating your interest and intentions from the beginning gets all of the “nonsense” out of the way and focuses on what’s most important - finding out if the two of you have that “chemistry.” However, it’s a high-risk, high-reward situation as the woman you approach has to make a judgment call based on your presentation.

What if there was a way you could still approach a woman, be open, honest and not feel like you have anything “on-the-line?” And in fact, your disconnect from the outcome of the situation may draw interest from the woman you approached?

Wednesday Wisdom: How to Give Value in Every Interaction

Every Wednesday I will share a thought, message or quote that will be not only applicable in your dating life but also every other aspect of your life.

This message is an update from a post I wrote over two years ago from Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

“Only go for Win/Win. You should want to win but you should also want the other person to win. You wouldn’t want to get your way and have the other person not feel good about it, because down the road it would eventually come back and create resentment. On the other hand, believe the other person wouldn’t feel good if they got their way and you gave in. Work for a Win/Win. Really hammer it out. And if you two can’t figure ‘it’ out, then agree to not decide on ‘it’ at all. It would be better not to decide than to live with a decision that wasn’t right for the both of you. Maybe another time in the future, you two might be able to get together and work ‘it’ out.”

Using FourSquare

Yeah, I said it -- and it’s not what you think. For those who aren’t familiar with FourSquare, it is a location-based mobile app where users can “check-in” and share their location with friends.

Typically, you’ll see people (including me) talk about how you can use the FourSquare (and other third-party apps) to meet women. It’s a VERY underrated resource and one you should look into if you haven’t already. However, this advice isn’t about using the app. It’s about other people’s use of the app.
